Mark 3:23-25 and Psalm 31:14-15,20

So he called them to himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. ” (Mark 3:23-25)
Lord Jesus, we are increasingly a nation divided against itself, where truth is not the common currency of political debate. Have mercy on us.

You shall hide them in the secret place of your presence from the plots of man; you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. (Psalm 31:20)
Holy Spirit, please stop the evil speaking and the slander that corrodes our life as a nation. As you did for Daniel, please shut the lions’ mouths. Thank you.

But as for me, I trust in you, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me. (Psalm 31:14-15)
Father, you are our God and our hiding place; save all those who are persecuted for righteousness sake and for being faithful witnesses of your love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank you.

A word received 6/4/2009: Pray for this nation. Pray for wise and godly men and women who will lead my people in my ways. Pray for the courts, that they will do true justice. Pray for the Congress and the legislatures, that they will have a spirit of wisdom and discernment. Pray for the President and the Governors, that their hearts will be turned into my ways.

A word received 6/25/2009: Pray for the President.
Pray for my work in his heart and mind.
Pray for wise and godly counselors for him.
Pray for wisdom in the storm.
Pray that he will look to me rather than opinion polls.
Pray for my word to lodge in his heart.
