Colossians 3:12-15

April 28, 2012

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, (Colossians 3:12a)
Father, please help me daily to know your love for me and answer your call to holiness.

put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; (Colossians 3:12b)
Jesus, let me have this mind in me which was also in you (see Philippians 2:5); let me take on your character as I follow in your footsteps day by day.

bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. (Colossians 3:13)
Holy Spirit, please help us to forgive one another in our families, our parishes, and throughout this diocese. Help each of us recognize our need for forgiveness and to know that If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Thank you.

But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. (Colossians 3:14-15)
Holy Trinity, one God, help us to love one another as you love each other. Thank you.

I spend a lot of time in hotels spreading the Gospel around this large country. It has been a long time since I have bumped into a joker. The joker (the previous occupant) set the bedside alarm (that I never use) to midnight and 4am. The alarm went off at midnight. It took while to learn how to turn it off. Fool me once…. At 4am the alarm went off again! This time I knew how to disable it! Fool me twice. Huh…. I hope the joker got a good kick out of his/her little prank. Funny, today I am giving a talk on “Forgiveness” now I know how I will start the talk. Oh, you have to laugh. Smiling now at the hotel breakfast table… A little tired! Ok, now the ketchup will just not come out of the bottle and the waiter has forgotten my coffee… now I am looking for the hidden cameras. This is going to be a good day. Hallelujah.
Ps. I don’t believe it. Hahaha the waiter just took my plate away, and I had not finished my breakfast! At least I got my meal back. I will let you know how the rest of my days goes… Pray for me please. LOL In Vermont.
