“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.” (Matthew 5:11)
Lord, so often we are afraid of offending someone that we never speak or pray for them. It isn’t persecution we fear, it is offending someone. Lord Jesus Christ, please give us the boldness of your disciples in sharing the gospel and praying for people (see Acts 4:29-30).
“Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:12)
Holy Spirit, please help us find our joy in serving Jesus and in speaking his word boldly.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” (Matthew 5:13)
Jesus, much of your church has lost its savor. There is no salt in it and it is lukewarm, neither hot nor cold. Restore the fire of your Holy Spirit to your church.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.” (Matthew 5:14-15)
Father, please help us to be a light shining forth with the power of the gospel and your Holy Spirit fire.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
Holy Spirit, let your light shine forth in our lives so brightly tht we glorify our Father in heaven. Thank you.

As I was buying seeds for my vegetable garden I had a thought. We often talk about the “root” of the issue, need or problem in the healing ministry. Perhaps we should focus on the “seed” before it became a root! This could be applied to the “seed” of cancer or the “seed” of a memory. Indeed the very “seed” in generational healing. Or even the “seed” of unforgiveness that can become a very bitter root indeed. Perhaps through pray the seed of the bitter root could be isolated and sterilized? Luke 18:27 writes, “Jesus replied, ‘What is impossible with men is possible with God.’”
