1 Thessalonians 3:1-4

May 4, 2012

Therefore, when we could no longer endure it, we thought it good to be left in Athens alone, and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith, (1 Thessalonians 3:1-2)
Jesus, thank you for the fellow laborers you give us, who establish us in you and encourage us.

that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this. (1 Thessalonians 3:3)
Holy Spirit, as we and our brothers and sisters go through hard times, please help us to be steady in the Father’s love for us.

For, in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know. (1 Thessalonians 3:4)
Father, we know that we and all your saints go through times of affliction and suffering. Help us share with them in the suffering for the gospel according to the power of God.

Imagination is a gift from God. Imagine you are walking on a beach. You see a fishing boat and many many fish. You see “The Man” sitting by a fire. He beckons to you. He says to you, “Come my beloved, come and sit next to me. Here, have some breakfast…” After a quiet while, He says, “I cooked this myself for you. So, what shall we talk about?” See John 21:1-21 for the full story.
