Then he went out from there and came to his own country, and his disciples followed him. (Mark 6:1)
Holy Spirit, please help us follow Jesus wherever he leads us.
And when the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to him, that such mighty works are performed by his hands! Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” So they were offended at him. (Mark 6:2-3)
Lord Jesus, lead us all from head knowledge of you to heart knowledge. The people thought they knew about you, but they didn’t know you. Help us all to know you.
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.” (Mark 6:4)
Father, help us to honor your son Jesus.
Now he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief. (Mark 6:5-6a)
Holy Spirit, move among the deputies and bishops at the General Convention and bring them to faith/belief in Jesus. The levels of unbelief and commitment to politically correct ideology are standing in the way of your ministry in the Episcopal Church. Have mercy on us.
Then he went about the villages in a circuit, teaching. (Mark 6:6b)
Jesus, please go around the circuit of cities and towns and villages in this diocese and teach your people. Thank you.
