Psalm 42:1-5

July 20, 2012

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for you, O God. (Psalm 42:1)
Father, give us a heart to desire you and your love that overcomes all the sin and loneliness in our lives.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:2)
Jesus, I thirst and hunger for more of you in my life. Teach me wisdom and teach me to treasure each day that you give me.

My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your God?” (Psalm 42:3)
Father, it is not that you are distant from me; it’s that I am often distant from you. Help me come into the embrace of your arms and love.

When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. (Psalm 42:4)
Holy Spirit, please help me daily remember all that you done for me and my family. Help me rejoice in you when I enter your sanctuary and praise you with a voice of joy and thanksgiving.

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. (Psalm 42:5)
Lord Jesus, I am often discouraged; help me by your Holy Spirit in the times when I am down. Help me daily place my hope in you and praise you; for you lift me up every time I turn to you. Thank you.

A word received: Don’t be afraid. Keep your eyes on me.

Subject: Daily quote
Go on, really live.
Live your life to fullest.
Let nothing hold you back.
Identify what is holding you, and let it go.
Hand it over to God.
Enjoy yourself, have fun, be a kind person, cherish this garden God has given us.
Take hold of life today, with Christ by your side.
[Christ speaking] “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” [that it might be full and meaningful] (John 10:10). Amplified bible.
