South Carolina

July 28, 2012

I took a portion of Solomon’s prayer, 2 Chronicles 6:18-21 (NIV), and modified it for South Carolina.–JW

But will God really dwell on earth with humans? The heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain you. How much less the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina! Yet, Lord my God, give attention to your servants’ prayers and their pleas for mercy. Hear the cries and the prayers that your servants are praying in your presence.
May your eyes be open toward the diocese of South Carolina day and night, this place of which you said you would put your Name there. May you hear the prayers your servants pray for this place. Hear the supplications of your servants and of your people in the diocese of South Carolina when they pray. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.
