Acts 24:14-18

October 11, 2012

“But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets.” (Acts 24:14)
Jesus, please restore to your church a true worship of God and a belief in all things which are written in the law and the prophets and the Gospels.

“I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.” (Acts 24:15)
Holy Father, help us live in the hope of the resurrection from the dead, both of the just and the unjust.

“This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.” (Acts 24:16)
Holy Spirit, help us strive always to have a conscience without offense toward God and man. Whenever we do offend, help us immediately bring that offense to Jesus for his forgiveness.

“Now after many years I came to bring alms and offerings to my nation,” (Acts 24:17)
Jesus, please help us to be generous in giving alms and offerings to your church and your people. Thank you.

“in the midst of which some Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with a mob nor with tumult.” (Acts 24:18 )
Holy Spirit, move our hearts to make a full confession of our sins and be purified from them. Thank you.

A word received: Hope in me.

Subject: Three year anniversary…
Well today, three years ago I went to the hospital with an unexplained cough! Today I thank God for His healing provision… And for your prayers that saved my life. I am still recovering from hip surgery directly due to the swine flu episode three years ago and
the medications I was given to save my life. Please keep me in you prayers. It has not been fun. (that is what is called a British understatement) also a Problem with my thigh muscles as well… Due to being in a coma for so long… Oh joy. But hey, thank you God it beats the alternative!
PT is very excited as today I am being a test pig. They are renting me a machine that will supposedly help the muscles… I will find out what the excitement is all about at 10.30 today.
      Much love N+

Anniversary. THANK YOU. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4
It was three years ago on the 10th Oct 2009 that my life changed forever. The cough that, ten days later, was diagnosed, while I was in a three week coma, as the H1N1 swine flu. The strange thing is that even this morning I found out something new about that time. One nurse, Tasha, would move my legs and arms for me. Stretching me, moving me as I was totally paralyzed and unresponsive. Helping me with pure kindness. Moving me to help my muscles… To survive, and eventually thrive. I have been so very moved, so many times over the past three years hearing the amazing stories of prayer and kindness of total strangers and of those who know and love us. If you were a part of the team that, through prayer, love, and faithfulness saved my life, I want to AGAIN SAY A HUGE THANK YOU to each and every one of you, and of course, to God, THANK YOU.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4
      Luv ya..~ Fr. Nigel Mumford+
