Christ Church Schenectady Prayer Table Report

October 13, 2012

Christ Church Schenectady Prayer Table Report, Saturday, October 13, 2012, 9:25 – 10:30 a.m. Torre Bissell of Christ Church Schenectady on State St. and Candy Palumbo of Trinity Watervliet and Mark Pasko of St. Michael’s Colonie on Albany St. Cool in the sun, cold in the shade, incredible blue sky.

+–indicates received a wooden cross made by Dennis Adams of North Carolina
a–anointed with Holy Water

State St.

+a Tyson (young man) — He came to ask prayer for his brother, Timothy, who is in Afghanistan. [A carry-over from two weeks ago.]

+a Kyle (young man carrying his coat and shirt with nothing on his upper body) — “I have hyperthyroidism with hot and cold flashes (obviously in a hot flash). We prayed for healing.

+a Rose and +a Joe (drove up and parked in front of the prayer table, never seen them before) — “For good health.” [There was some heavy burden there for both of them.]

a Will [He already had a Dennis Adams cross on. “I wear it wherever I go.”] — “That I will have a good day.” We prayed for the joy of the Holy Spirit.

+Viviana (young woman) — She interrupted a cell phone conversation to get prayer.

+a Arthur and +Yolanda (pregnant girlfriend) — He confessed that he has been lying to her. He knows he needs to marry her. We prayed for repentance and forgiveness of sins.

+a Hank (older man) — He is in great financial distress.

+a Shawn (regular) — We prayed for joy and peace in the Holy Spirit.

+a Moses — “Everything: job, apt, food,…”

+a Jahlon (young man) — I have prayed for Jahlon maybe four times over the past six or seven years at the prayer table. This week he came forcefully to mind and I prayed for him during the week. As soon as he walked up to the table I called him by name and told him I had been praying for him this past week. He brought his sins to Jesus for forgiveness. I reminded him that Jesus experienced EVERY temptation that he, Jahon, was going through (though without sin). That was a comfort to him and he thanked me profusely. Prayer is such a mystery!

+a Woogie and his son +a Jahlah — I prayed that Woogie would walk in God’s ways and that Jahlah would grow into the man God wants him to be.

+a Michael (young man) — limping from bad arthritis which runs in his family. We prayed for Jesus to speak that word of healing to him.
+a Nathan (young man) — He was with Michael and reluctant to get prayer but Michael ordered him to sit down in the chair and get prayer. I prayed Nathan would be God’s man. Nathan has come to Christ Church off and on (mostly off) for several years.

Albany St.

+Mecca, +Yaha, +Elijaha — Prayed for them as a group for daily blessings and protection.

+Aireoona and +Antonia — Prayed for daily blessing and finances.

+Judy — alcoholic addiction
+Bruce — family and job

Ernie — “Hit and run prayer”

+William and +Joseph — They asked prayer for daily provision.

+Richi (regular) — He asked prayer for his wife Felicia who is in school at Cobleskill. It was cold in the shade where the prayer table was located and Richi invited Mark and Candy to relocate across the street where he was renovating a building so that they would be in the sun and warmer.
+Vee (young man, brother or cousin of Richi) — Prayed for birthday blessings.

Micah 5:2-5a

October 13, 2012

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)
Jesus, come and rule in my heart, in my family, in my parish, in my diocese, and throughout your Church.

Therefore he shall give them up, until the time that she who is in labor has given birth; then the remnant of his brethren shall return to the children of Israel. (Micah 5:3)
Holy Spirit, bring back the remnant which has been driven from your Church by its heresies and unfaithfulness. Restore your Church to the will and rule of Jesus.

And he shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth; and this one shall be peace. (Micah 5:4-5a)
Jesus, come and feed your flock — lead us to green pastures with quiet, living water and restore our strength. Come in the majesty of your Father and our God. Thank you.

A word received: Pray that the seed of my word will find good soil to grow in.
