John 18:33-37

Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning me?” Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you to me. What have you done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from here.” Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice.” (John 18:33-37)
Jesus, I ask you to be king of my heart and of my life.

Holy Spirit, please help me daily hear the truth that Jesus is speaking to me.

Father, we pray for your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven and for your kingdom to come among us. Thank you.

Archbishop Mouneer Anis requests prayers for his nation in the wake of a Constitutional Declaration by President Mursi. Karen posted this prayer some time back.

O Lord, we cry out with our brothers and sisters in Egypt. O Lord, keep them safe and protect them, may Your Word be a precious treasure to them, giving them hope and joy.

O Lord may they know You have not forgotten them, that You see injustice and that the wicked will NOT always triumph. May they know that You are strong on their behalf.

O Lord, give light to the eyes of our brothers and sisters in Jesus, the light of Christ shining in their hearts (2 Cor 4:6), the light that shines in the darkness and that darkness cannot overcome (John 1:5)

O Lord, may all who know You in Egypt be strengthened to trust in Your unfailing love and to sing of Your goodness in these days of struggle. May their hope in You be a bright beacon throughout the land.
