In attendance at the enthronement

March 19, 2013

God our Father, Lord of all the world, through your Son you have called us into the fellowship of your universal Church: hear our prayer for those who will be attending the enthronement of Justin Welby that in their vocation and ministry they may be instruments of your love, and give to your servants the needful gifts of grace; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Romans 10:14-17

March 19, 2013

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? (Romans 10:14-15a)
Holy Spirit, send forth many to preach the gospel throughout this diocese so that all may call upon Jesus and believe in him.

As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:15b)
Jesus, help us all enter into the beauty that comes from sharing your gospel of peace with others. Thank you.

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:16-17)
Father, please help us all hear and obey your word and believe your gospel. Thank you.
