Enthronement eve

Joshua 3:5 (New International Version)
Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.”

O Lord, teach us today what You would have us do to purify ourselves. We beseech You to perform amazing things in the Anglican Communion tomorrow. Commission Your Son Christ Jesus, raised from the dead, to drive out the demonic forces that have laid claim to Your church. He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth, and we will know that He is among us, when His priests step out in faith. Amen.
Joshua 3:1-13, Matthew 28:18

Anglican bishops and primates

March 20, 2013

Almighty God, you have entrusted to your Church a share in the ministry of your Son our great high priest: inspire [our Anglican bishops and primates, especially those attending the enthronement of Justin Welby] by your Holy Spirit to offer themselves to you, that strengthened by your power, they may work for the increase of your kingdom and set forward the eternal praise of your name; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Almighty God, who called your Church to witness that you were in Christ reconciling the world to yourself: Help the Anglican bishops and primates to proclaim the good news of your love, that all who hear it may be drawn to you; through him who was lifted up on the cross, and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Psalm 119:145-152

March 20, 2013

I cry out with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD! I will keep your statutes. (Psalm 119:145)
LORD, thank you for hearing the cry of my heart for more of you in my life.

I cry out to you; save me, and I will keep your testimonies. (Psalm 119:146)
Holy Spirit, please help me daily keep your testimonies; let your word find good soil in my heart.

I rise before the dawning of the morning, and cry for help; I hope in your word. (Psalm 119:147)
Jesus, thank you for this time with you each day. You give me hope and encouragement.

My eyes are awake through the night watches, that I may meditate on your word. (Psalm 119:148 )
Father, be with me in the night watches so that my attention is on you.

Hear my voice according to your lovingkindness; O LORD, revive me according to your justice. (Psalm 119:149)
Holy Trinity, One God, I pray that you will bring revival to your church and your people. Let your justice and mercy shine forth among your people.

They draw near who follow after wickedness; they are far from your law. (Psalm 119:150)
Jesus, there is so much wickedness in our society — so much chasing after wind. Have mercy upon us.

You are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are truth. (Psalm 119:151)
Father, thank you for being near to us and for the truth of your commandments. Keep us steady in you.

Concerning your testimonies, I have known of old that you have founded them forever. (Psalm 119:152)
Father, establish your word in the hearts of your people. Thank you.

A word received: Seek me and you will find me. I know you.

A word received: I AM the light for your path.
