Acts 2:16-21

But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: (Acts 2:16)
Help us, Holy Spirit, hear and receive the words of this prophecy.

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of my Spirit on all flesh; (Acts 2:17a)
Jesus, pour out your Holy Spirit upon all of us.

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, (Acts 2:17b)
Jesus, we pray that our sons and daughters will hear and speak your word.

Your young men shall see visions, (Acts 2:17c)
Father, we ask that the young men of this diocese will see visions of you and your kingdom.

Your old men shall dream dreams. (Acts 2:17d)
I have been young, and now am old (Psalm 37:25a). Help me, Lord, dream and speak of you and your work among us.

And on my menservants and on my maidservants I will pour out my Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. (Acts 2:18 )
Father, pour out your Spirit upon all your servants so that they speak your word. Renew in our day the wonders of your Pentecost.

I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. (Acts 2:19)
Holy Spirit, help us see and recognize the signs and wonders you are doing among us.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. (Acts 2:20)
Come soon, Lord Jesus; come soon!

And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.’ (Acts 2:21)
Jesus, send us out into the harvest fields where we will help many to call upon your name and be saved. Thank you.

A word received: Give thanks for my “Nos” as well as my “Yeses”.

A word received by a friend: While reading Acts 2, the Word: “Lord fill me with Your Spirit,” just jumped off the page at me.

***** PRAYER TABLE REPORT ST. ANN’S OF AMSTERDAM, (Monday, June 17, 9:45-10:45 a.m. in front of our church on Division Street. Absolutely gorgeous warm, sunny morning … for a change! Lots of foot and vehicle traffic. We had our highest number of visitors come to His table since we started this Monday ministry back on July 9 of 2012. We do not measure success in numbers, but it is still gratifying to see more and more people come. Becky Hadley, Muriel Papura and Deacon Alan Hart presiding at His table today.)

a– denotes anointed with Holy Oil.
t–denotes received wooden cross made by Dennis Adams of North Carolina.

a–ETHEL — This 80-ish woman is a regular. She has a bad left thumb and wrist which she sustained over the winter falling on ice as she was delivering food to friends she visits every day. She walks all over downtown Amsterdam doing this! We prayed for healing for her wrist and anointed her wrist and thumb.

t,t — FRANK and KASHAON — This was a father and his stepson who stopped for prayer for Frank’s mother MYRA, who is having heart problems lately. We prayed for healing for Myra and for protection and preservation for Frank and Kashaon.

RENEE — We prayed for successful back surgery for her.

a–REBECCA — This young lady is a regular. In fact, she was the very first-ever visitor to the table last July 9th. She asked for prayer for her left ear, which is stopped up and giving her pain. She has a doctor’s appointment for this Friday to have it flushed out. In the meantime, she is very uncomfortable and is not tolerating the medicine she was prescribed to take. We also prayed for protection and safety for MICHAEL, the infant she takes care of every afternoon.

JAY — Requested prayers for his ex-girlfriend — but still a dear friend to him — TERI, who is experiencing ” …severe job discrimination” where she works Jay said she is “not respected” by the men she works with. (She is the only woman employee in the office.) We prayed that Teri would either find peace in this workplace or else discern that is time to go somewhere else, if possible.

t–MARCUS — This pleasant man stopped by and asked for prayers for “… things to keep going well” for him. We prayed for continued happiness, good health and protection/preservation for Marcus.

t,t — ANGELA and CHASTITY — Angela (young mother) asked for ” … just a blessing for each of us!” for herself and her teenaged daughter Chastity. We thanked God for their good health and prayed that it would continue and they would both come to walk in His footsteps and come to know the Lord in an exciting, new way!

JOHN — This Irish gent (“My name’s McNally!” he said to us as he greeted us cheerily) wondered why we were out there. When told it was to pray for anyone who came by and wanted prayer, he said “Well, count me in!” he said, and we prayed for his general good health and well-being.

a, t — CLARA with three young boys (no names) — She was very worried and sad but also very eager for prayer for ANGEL, a young man who Clara said is in some kind of trouble. “He needs protection and all our prayers because of where he’s going.” She did not elaborate; the Lord knows the details. We prayed for Angel to be safe and to come to know God better, and for peace of mind and for strength for Clara and the boys.

Prayer Focus Update-The Abayev Family Hear ” The Story”
This past sunday was fantastic. We’ve been praying as a family and had you praying for some of our focus relationships here. A family day was planned with the “ABAYEV Family ” at our home for swimming, cherry picking, and time together. Saturday, I found myself having day dreams of sharing “The Story” with the husband of the family. Instead of reasoning with myself of why it wasn’t a good idea, boldness and confidence filled my heart. Sundays, we typically have a family worship and study time in the Word using Julia’s Kid’s Picture Book. Our past week’s memory verse for her was John 3:16. We all know it, ” God so loved the world that he gave his only son”.
Spirit Of Liberty
When The Abayevs arrived we invited them to join our family worship time and they agreed. The kids and moms were quickly obsorbed into a nearby play room and I found myself sitting with the husband, the Book in Russian, the Book in English, and the Kids Picture Book. There was a spirit of liberty and I was able to freely share about what Jesus has done over the next hour as well as my personal experiences with Christ. His heart was open and agreeable. Our time ended with me sharing that I believed what Jesus did for me is for every person in the world including him. That Jesus reveals this truth through people, dreams, and miracles.
A family Member Healed
I was able to share a miraculous story from last week. Ella’s twin sister was very ill this past week experiencing sever stomach and back pain. She was growing worried unaware of the cause and the symptoms were worsening quickly. Traveling to the cafe with Julia I called to see if she would like me to drop off Julia. I wasn’t aware of the serious condition she was in. She explained that she was growing worse and unable to do anything needing to seek medical attention. I told her Julia and I would pray for her and I hung up the phone. We said a short prayer in the car for her and continued with our day. The next day she testified of how she was instantly relieved of the symptoms and healed at the very moment we were praying! What a powerful testimony of the real living God, Jesus Christ at work right now.
Prayer Focus:
We are praying that this story and the words we shared about Jesus would bring revelation of the Truth to this family! Please join us in praying that this week, Jesus would reveal himself and bring deeper revelation to them. Be encouraged, God seeks his children like a father would for his lost son in a crowd. I believe this past Father’s day, Papa God was seeking for these lost kids of his, longing for them to be found.
