Terrorism alert

August 3, 2013

From Fox News: The Al Qaeda threat that prompted the State Department to issue a worldwide travel alert and close down 22 embassies and consulates for the weekend is serious and ‘very specific.’

August 4, 2013 is the “Night of Power” (or Night of Destiny) during the month of Ramadan.

Psalm 93:1a (NIV)
The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength.

You are indeed robed in majesty, Lord God. You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.
O Lamb of God, You are worthy, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! May our voices be joined with the voices of the cloud of witnesses and the hosts of heaven, saying, Worthy is the Lamb.
We claim the Blood of the Lamb over the spiritual gates in the atmosphere over the United States of America and the spiritual gates over American interests abroad. The Blood of the Lamb says to the angel of death, You must pass over.
In the name of Jesus, we bind and rebuke all terrorist destruction from our gates. Father, send forth Your angels in power and strength to defeat the plans of any demonic Jins and terrorists in our land.
We magnify the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We laud His holy name. May the atmosphere over the United States of America be filled with praise and adulation. Holy is the Lord. Holy is the Lord God of hosts. Holy is His name. Amen.

Acts 17:22-28

August 3, 2013

Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: (Acts 17:22-23)
Jesus, please help us get beyond being religious to knowing you. So many are “religious” or “spiritual” but worship a god they do not know.

God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, (Acts 17:24-26)
Father, please help all your lost sheet recognize the works of your hand that surround us.

so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.'” (Acts 17:27-28 )
Holy Spirit, move the hearts of your wandering sheep so that they would seek out Jesus, the shepherd of their souls.

LORD, please help us live and move and have our being in you. Thank you.

A word received: Bring your problems to me. I love you.

Yemen–Al Qaeda

August 3, 2013

From a 2012 New York Times article:

The government is deeply unpopular in the remote provinces where Al Qaeda militants have sought sanctuary. The tribes there tend to regularly switch sides, making it difficult to depend on them for information about Al Qaeda. “My state is anyone who fills my pocket with money,” goes one old tribal motto.

Psalm 83:13 (NIV)
Make them like tumbleweed, my God, like chaff before the wind.

Pursue the Al Qaeda militants with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. Make them like tumbleweed, my God, like chaff before the wind. Amen.
