Honduras–drug trafficking

From Wikipedia: When the US Drug Enforcement Administration set up its first office in Tegucigalpa in 1981, its resident agent “rapidly came to the accurate conclusion that the entire Honduran government was deeply involved in the drug trade.”…

In December 2009 the head of Honduras’ anti-drug smuggling operations, Gen Julian Aristides Gonzalez, was assassinated in Tegucigalpa. Journalist David Meza was assassinated in March 2010; he investigated drug trafficking within Honduras, and reportedly received death threats in 2010, according to the El Tiempo newspaper. Another reporter, Nahúm Elí Palacios Arteaga, was also assassinated in March 2010.

Christ Jesus,

You cleansed Mary Magdalene of seven demons, and her name is Your first recorded word spoken after Your resurrection. What a high privilege to be the first witness!
For millennia, the land of Honduras has known paganism, human sacrifice, political exploitation, slavery, violence, poverty, and now drug trafficking. Lord, have mercy! Redeemer, Savior, Risen Lord, have mercy and cleanse this land. We yearn for Honduras to have a place of honor at Your second coming. Have mercy, Lord. Have mercy. Amen.
