Mark 12:28-31

August 22, 2013

Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, “Which is the first commandment of all?” Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:28-31)
LORD, help us this order right: to love and worship you first of all then to love our neighbor.

Jesus, so many in our generation have reversed the order: they have put loving neighbor ahead of loving God; and all sorts of perversions flow from this. Help us get this right.

Father, fill our hearts and minds and souls with love for you and with your strength.

Holy Spirit, please help us daily love our neighbors by sharing the gospel of peace with them. Thank you.

A word received: Pray for fathers who will show forth my love and discipline to their children.

A word received: There are no secrets from me.

Honduras is a young country, with just over 50% of the population under 19 years old (only 3% of the population is 65 or over).

Matthew 19:13-15 MSG
One day children were brought to Jesus in the hope that he would lay hands on them and pray over them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus intervened: “Let the children alone, don’t prevent them from coming to me. God’s kingdom is made up of people like these.” After laying hands on them, he left.

May God’s kingdom come to Honduras as it is in heaven! We stand in agreement with the living active words of Christ Jesus.
Come, Jesus! Lay Your hands on the children and pray over them. Come to Honduras. Amen.
