Psalm 5:1-10

August 27, 2013

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to you I will pray. My voice you shall hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning I will direct it to you, and I will look up. (Psalm 5:1-3)
Holy Spirit, help me rise up each morning to hear your word.

For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with you. The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; you hate all workers of iniquity. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. (Psalm 5:4-6)
Father, there is much wickedness in our land. Have mercy on us and turn this nation back to you.

But as for me, I will come into your house in the multitude of your mercy; in fear of you I will worship toward your holy temple. Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before my face. (Psalm 5:7-8 )
Jesus, I trust you to lead me on your path of righteousness. Help me each day to follow where you lead. Thank you.

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is destruction; their throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their tongue. Pronounce them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you. (Psalm 5:9-10)
LORD, deal with those who bear false witness about your word and love and judgments. Thank you.

A word received: A loving father disciplines his children. I love you and I guide and correct you.

Honduras–urban centers

August 27, 2013

The latest population census has shown that, for the first time in Honduran history, more Hondurans now live in cities than in rural areas. This is because the working conditions outside urban areas are much less than ideal.

Genesis 4:16-22 (New International Version)
So Cain went out from the LORD’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden. Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city, and he named it after his son Enoch. . . . Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and raise livestock. His brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute. Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain’s sister was Naamah.

O Lord,
Have mercy upon us. In the ashes of a broken relationship with You, mankind established cities, agriculture, artistry, and industry. Have mercy, Lord. Have mercy.
Not out from the Lord’s presence, but into the Lord’s presence!
We humbly lift up the cities of Honduras and ask that their government, agriculture, artistry, and industry be established on godly principles. Only with Your help can the Honduran cities be re-established in relationship with You. With God, nothing is impossible. Amen.
