Psalm 38:15-16, 21-22

September 4, 2013

For in you, O LORD, I hope; you will hear, O Lord my God. (Psalm 38:15)
      LORD, you are my hope and my strength. Thank you for hearing the cries of my heart.

For I said, “Hear me, lest they rejoice over me, lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me.” (Psalm 38:16)
      Jesus, keep my foot from slipping — help me to be steady in you. Thank you.

      Do not forsake me, O LORD; O my God, be not far from me! Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation! (Psalm 38:21-22)

A word received: Come to me.

Pressed, for all nations

September 4, 2013

At the foot of the Mount of Olives, adjacent to the Church of All Nations, stand the Gardens of Gethsemane (Gat Shemanim- oil press in Hebrew).

Luke 22:44
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Psalm 138:8 (ESV)
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands.

Oh, Jesus, how You were pressed for Honduras, for Syria, for the USA, for Russia, for Israel, for Yemen, for Japan . . . .

Isaiah 55:10-11 (ESV)
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Oh, Jesus, how You were pressed for Honduras, for Syria, for the USA, for Russia, for Israel, for Yemen, for Japan . . . .

Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Oh, Jesus, how You were pressed for Honduras, for Syria, for the USA, for Russia, for Israel, for Yemen, for Japan . . . .

Many Hondurans have combined traditional Amerindian religious practices, such as offerings to the sun, with Roman Catholicism. Black Caribs combine many elements of African religions with Methodist religious practices.

Matthew 12:29
Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.

Malachi 4:2
But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.

O Sun of Righteousness,
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. We cry out that the church in Honduras would fear You so that You would rise with healing in Your wings. Bind the strong man that corrupts truth and heal the faith in this land.
Bless the work of the missionaries. Just as a great river flows from a tiny spring, may a great river of revival, with abundant waters, flow from their ministry.
Arise, O Sun of Righteousness. Arise and exalt the oppressed. Amen.
