Ephesians 1:1-10

September 6, 2013

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 1:1)
Holy Spirit, help me to be faithful in Christ Jesus.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:2)
Father, done of us deserve your love, especially after the way we treated your son Jesus. Thank you for loving us while we were (and are) still sinners.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Ephesians 1:3)
Father, we bless you and thank you for sending Jesus to us.

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, (Ephesians 1:4)
Holy Spirit, bring us to that state of holiness that God our Ather and the Lord Jesus Christ have chosen for us.

having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, (Ephesians 1:5)
Dad, thank you for adopting me as your child through your son Jesus Christ.

to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:6)
Jesus, help us bring glory to your Father (and ours) by the choices we make as his adopted children.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7)
Jesus, thank you for making me clean by being washed in your blood.

which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, (Ephesians 1:8 )
Lord, we need this day’s wisdom and prudence. Help us live out our lives as redeemed children of your Father.

having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, (Ephesians 1:9)
Father, thank you for making your will known to us. Help us to live it out day by day.

that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth–in Him. (Ephesians 1:10)
Jesus, thank you that when the fullness of time has come we will be gathered in to our Father’s arms and find peace there.

Father, I long to rest in your arms as a child just as my son rested mine so many years ago. Thank you.

Psalm 97:1, 11, 12 KJV
The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!

Be glad, Bobel Cay, Cayos Cochinos, Port Royal Cay, Savanna Cay, Cayo Sur, Swan Islands, and Tigre.
Rejoice, Bay Islands–Guanaja, Roatan, Barbaretta, and Utila!
Light is sown for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!
