Israel

Israel is pressed on every side. Anarchy increases in Sinai. Hamas and Hezbollah stockpile weapons in underground tunnels in Sinai, Gaza, and Lebanon. Syria is in civil war.

Judges 3:31 (NIV)
After Ehud came Shamgar son of Anath, who struck down six hundred Philistines with an oxgoad. He too saved Israel.

Anath–means answer (to prayer)
Shamgar–means sword
The number 600 is associated with warfare.
–Noah was 600 years old at the time of the flood.
–At the Exodus, Pharoah sent 600 of the best chariots.
–Six hundred Danites conquered Laish.
–David moved from place to place with 600 men as Saul searched for him.

O Father,
You chose Israel. They are still beloved for the sake of their forefathers, for Your gifts and Your call are irrevocable. They are called to be the prophetic nation, and You said

“Do not touch my anointed ones;
do my prophets no harm.”

We cry out for no harm to come to Your prophets.
Father, we humbly ask You to flood the tunnels that hold weapons and ammunition. If Israel’s enemies use armed vehicles, boats, or airplanes to prey on her, we humbly ask you to lock their wheels or rudders in mud. If they encroach Israel’s borders, we humbly ask you to rebuff them. If Israel’s enemies seek the death of Your prophets, we humbly ask You to hide Your prophets and rebuke the prophet-slaying spirit. Strike down all missiles, just as Shamgar struck down the 600 Philistines. Amen.

Luke 17:11-19

Now it happened as he went to Jerusalem that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. Then as he entered a certain village, there met him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” So when he saw them, he said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And he said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” (Luke 17:11-19)
Holy Spirit, please give us hearts of thanksgiving so that we respond to all your words to us.

Jesus, cleanse your people of everything that defiles us.

Father, please help us humble ourselves before Jesus and worship you as this man did. Thank you.

A word received: Pray for repentance for all.

A word received: Though you walk through the valley of deep darkness I will be with you.

A word received: Give me thanks in all circumstances. Don’t let anything separate you from me. I AM there in ever circumstance.
