Psalm 68:3-5

February 4, 2014

But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God; yes, let them rejoice exceedingly. (Psalm 68:3)
Jesus, thank you that by your righteousness I am able to rejoice.

Sing to God, sing praises to his name; extol him who rides on the clouds, by his name YAH, and rejoice before him. (Psalm 68:4)
Holy Spirit, please help me to sing to God daily and sing praises to his name.

A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy habitation. (Psalm 68:5)
Father, thank you for becoming my Dad and helping me to know your love as my Father.

A word received: Look to me with hope.

I find these two scriptures interesting. It is as if the names of gods are written on the land where they are worshipped.

Exodus 20:22-24 (NKJV)
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘You have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. You shall not make anything to be with Me—gods of silver or gods of gold you shall not make for yourselves. An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you.

Zechariah 13:2 (NKJV)
“It shall be in that day,” says the Lord of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land.

Our Father in heaven,
Has not Your name been recorded in Jerusalem? Come to Jerusalem and bless her. Cut off the names of the idols from the land, that they may no longer be remembered. Cause the unclean spirits to depart from her. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in Jerusalem as it is in heaven. Amen.
