Iraq

Al Qaeda is in Iraq.
For St. George’s, Baghdad:

Psalm 31:19-24 (NIVUK)
How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you.
In the shelter of your presence you hide them
from all human intrigues;
you keep them safe in your dwelling
from accusing tongues.
Praise be to the Lord,
for he showed me the wonders of his love
when I was in a city under siege.
In my alarm I said,
‘I am cut off from your sight!’
Yet you heard my cry for mercy
when I called to you for help.
Love the Lord, all his faithful people!
The Lord preserves those who are true to him,
but the proud he pays back in full.
Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord.

John 8:19 and Ephesians 1:5-6

Then they said to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also.” (John 8:19)

having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he has made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:5-6)
      Jesus, please help us grow daily in our knowing you and your Father. Guide us by your Holy Spirit so that we enter into that adoption you have prepared for us. Thank you that we can enter into your peace and glory and be accepted as true sons and daughters of our beloved Father in heaven.

Flood in the Somerset Levels–Muchelney

February 12, 2014

Psalm 68:1-4 (NKJV), adapted
Let God arise,
Let His enemies be scattered;
Let those also who hate Him flee before Him.
As smoke is driven away,
So drive them away;
As wax melts before the fire,
So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
But let the righteous be glad;
Let them rejoice before God;
Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.

Sing to God, Muchelney, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name YAH,
And rejoice before Him.
