Gary (staff) — We prayed for his wife Debbie who is in pain; for Joanne who needs a kidney, and for the message he would be giving to those who had come to the meal.

Ted (volunteer) — His granddaughter Camille had a reaction to the antibiotics she was receiving for Lyme’s disease. We also prayed for his peripheral neuropathy.

Ken (man) — His girlfriend of 12 years died; he has lost his job; and he is angry with God. After praying with him, he invited Jesus into his heart.

++John (young man who gave his life to Jesus January 23rd) — He had to press charges against his father to the police (his father had held a knife to John’s throat) and his father was in jail. He asked prayer for his father’s safety. He also asked prayer for his mother who is sick. He took crosses for his father and mother.

+ a 199 Chris (man) — Gary (staff) had been his probation officer 18 years before. Gary invited him to sit down. Chris’ daughter Merjian (age 12) was adopted in Oklahoma without his permission because he couldn’t go there for the hearing. He has not seen his daughter for 10 years. He gave his life to Jesus and invited Jesus into his heart. He was crying.

+Rich (man) — He came up to me and introduced himself. I remembered his face but not his name. He said he had last seen me in 1999 at Christ Church.

Various Scriptures Prayed

Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast. Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus. But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. (John 12:20-26)

      Holy Spirit, move among us in this diocese to raise up men and women and youths who will give their all for Jesus and so bear much fruit.

      Father, you are Lord of the Harvest: send us into the harvest fields to bring in the full crop you have prepared for us.

      Jesus, I am willing to be a grain of wheat for you. Help me join with you day by day in producing much grain.

A word received (11/18/06): Pray for the day of my threshing. Pray that none of the wheat will be lost with the chaff. Pray for my little ones who are being led astray by lies. Pray for my will to be done.

Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you, as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow laborers. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. (Philemon 1:23-25)

      Jesus, help us to be fellow laborers for the gospel. Help us join with all those saints down through the ages whose passion for you was greater than any suffering they had to endure. Thank you.

Then King David went in and sat before the LORD; and he said: “Who am I, O Lord GOD? And what is my family, that You have brought me this far? (2 Samuel 7:18 )

      Father, help me come to that place of stillness where I am at rest in your presence as David was with you. Thank you.

Cause me to hear your lovingkindness in the morning, for in you do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you. (Psalm 143:8 )

      Jesus, I lift up my soul to you.

A word received (11/28/13): I can set your spirit free from every snare of the evil one.

A word received: I AM living water; come to me and drink.

List of priests and religious murdered or kidnapped in Syria is here.  Hat tip:  T19

Adapted from Psalm 149 (ESV)

Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the godly!
Let the intercessors for Syria be glad in their Maker;
let them rejoice in their King!
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19 KJV)

Let them praise his name with dancing,
making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with salvation.
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19 KJV)

Let the godly exult in glory;
let them sing for joy on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their throats
and two-edged swords in their hands,
We lift up the sword of the Spirit, Lord. Defend the gospel in loyalty, honor, and commitment! Defend those clergy and religious who are being held captive! Deliver them with a strong hand and an outstretched arm!

to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,
to bind their kings with chains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
to execute on them the judgment written!
Jehovah Sabaoth, bind the demonic forces of evil at play in these murders and kidnappings with chains and fetters of iron. Execute on them the judgment written!

This is honor for all his godly ones.
Praise the Lord!
