Job and Psalms

“For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease. Though its root may grow old in the earth, and its stump may die in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant. (Job 14:7-9)

Lord Jesus, bring new life to your church. Let the river of your Spirit water it. Let it bring forth new buds and leaves.

My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to your word. (Psalm 119:25)
Holy Spirit, revive me; revive your church.

How precious is your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your pleasures. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. (Psalm 36:7-9)
Father, help me drink from the river of your pleasures and from your fountain of life. Thank you.

There the workers of iniquity have fallen; they have been cast down and are not able to rise. (Psalm 36:12)
My father was a “wandering Aramean” (Dt 26:6 RSV), but you have given me a home in you. Thank you.

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. (Job 13:15a)
LORD, I put my trust in you no matter what happens.

WORD: Cry out to me and I will hear you.
WORD: I AM your strength and your high tower. I AM your refuge at all times.
WORD: Look to me and I will renew your strength.

Psalm 46:1 (ESV)
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.

Lord God Almighty,
You are our refuge and strength in this season of terrorism. Be present to the law enforcement officials in the United States and _____ and be their well proved help in trouble. Amen.

Dreadful news.

Psalm 111:6
He has shown his people the power of his works,
in giving them the inheritance of the nations.

Dear Father, what is to be inherited if the population dies of Ebola?

Psalm 135:13-14
Your name, O Lord, endures forever,
your renown, O Lord, throughout all ages.
For the Lord will vindicate his people
and have compassion on his servants.

Have compassion on Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Senegal, and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Isaiah 59:19
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
Lift up a standard against the Ebola virus, we pray. Stir the intercessors. Commission Your holy angels. Amen.
