Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. (John 12:42-43)
Father, we live in a generation that is under great pressure from those who stand for “political correctness” to not confess the name of your son Jesus. Move through this land with your Holy Spirit and give strength of heart and mind to your people to openly confess Jesus as Lord and Savior. Thank you.
But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.” (Acts 17:6)
Jesus, I pray that such an accusation could be laid against us in this diocese: that we “have turned the world upside down” for the sake of your name.
But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s command brought by his eunuchs; therefore the king was furious, and his anger burned within him. (Esther 1:12)
LORD, raise up more women who will refuse to put themselves on display to gratify male lust.
Nevertheless I am continually with you; you hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. (Psalm 73:23-24)
Thank you. Jesus, for the hope you have given me.
WORD: I AM your help in your time of need.

***** Prayer Table Report ST. ANN’S OF AMSTERDAM, (Monday, Sept. 15, 20-14, 9:45-10:45 a.m. in front of our church on Division Street. Cool, cloudy day. We gave away a lot of non-perishable food, clothing/shoes and winter coats, plus crosses in addition to prayer. Deacon Alan Hart presiding at His table today.)
t — received cross made by Dennis Adams of North Carolina.
a — anointed with Holy Oil.
f — received free food we offer.
c — received free clothing we offer.
Note: We also gave out the rest of the school supplied we have been giving to children and families. We gave out most of the seasonal clothing we have gathered from our members, and what we did NOT give out at the table, I brought the rest to the Glenville station of Salvation Army. They will see that needy people in our area use the rest. Beginning next Monday, we will resume giving out winter items — hats, gloves and socks.
a,f,c — REBECCA — She is having trouble with her thyroid getting bigger. In addition to the discomfort she is having trouble sleeping. She has another doctor appointment this week. We prayed for healing.
f,c — NANCY — Gave her a blessing for protection and safety. (She lives with her sister.)
DONNA — She is the distance runner who normally stops. Today she just smiled and said “God Bless you!” as she soared past us!
t,f,c — ALBERTO — This a very serious, sensible young man who has come every week this summer. This time he asked for prayers for people who are out of work all over the world to find jobs. He also asked for prayers for his family.
STEVE — He works at the free meal given out across the street at the Masonic Temple. He didn’t want prayer but said “Thank you for helping the people like this.”
f,c,t — BETSY — She asked for prayer for her sister MARGARET, who does not believe in God. We prayed for Margaret to someday accept Christ and walk with Him.
f,c,t,a — JULIO — First-time visitor to the table, just moved here. He asked for prayers for his own well-being and health and for his mother, who still lives in Puerto Rico.
MARSHALL — He didn’t want prayer and did not take anything today we offered, but he was pleasant and said “God bless you” to me. (This was a tremendous breakthrough for Deacon Alan. There was a time not long ago when he used to curse and gesture at me and whoever else was at the table, but table ministers James Bryant and John Banfield have befriended him over the last few months and now he comes and says hello.)
f,c — MAN and WOMAN (no names given) — Appeared to be very needy first-time visitors. Prayed for their safety and protection.
f,c,a,t,t,t — IVA — First-timer. She said she and her family are trying to buy a house and get into a better living situation, but some problems have come up with the sale. We prayed that the sale will come off if it is what God wants for Iva and her family.
f,c — EDWIN — A regular who sometimes prays WITH us for others. He asked for prayer for ” … work getting done on my house.” Apparently he is getting repairs and it has made things difficult in some ways he did not explain.
t,a,f,c — JoLYNN — First time she has come to the table. She is handicapped but gets around. She asked for prayer for healing and for some other concerns. The Lord knows the details.
f,c — MAN (No name) — This man works as a caregiver for several people in Amsterdam. He checks on them every day, makes sure they are up and about and have eaten, taken their medicine, etc. He often stops and takes clothing and food to give to them all. Today he said to us, “It’s a wonderful thing your church does here providing for the poor. You know, the poor don’t have ANYTHING, and they have no way of getting it!”
f,c,t,t — DARCY — A weekly visitor to His table. She asked for continued guidance and safety.
