United States

September 24, 2014

The Lord announced the word, and great was the company of those who proclaimed it: “Kings and armies flee in haste; in the camps men divide the plunder. Even while you sleep among the campfires, the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver, its feathers with shining gold.”
Lord, announce Your word over the United States. May a great company, tens of thousands and thousands of thousands, proclaim it against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. May these evil forces flee in haste and the wings of Your holy angels be sheathed with silver and gold.

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death. You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!

Ephesians 3:8 (NLT)

Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ.

Our Father in heaven,

Plunder the treasure box for the sufferers of autism spectrum disorders, especially _____!  Healing, Lord!  Restoration!  If they need spare parts, then spare parts!  Your treasures are endless!  We cry out in the name of Christ.  Amen.

Flies

September 24, 2014

Ecclesiastes 10:1 (ESV)
Dead flies make the perfumer’s ointment give off a stench; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.

Matthew 12:24 (KJV)
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

The meaning of Beelzebub is “lord of flies.”

O Father,
Help the intercessors, indeed help the whole church, in the United States to swat the flies. Teach us how to pray, fast, and give. We do not want Your anointing spoiled by the flies. O Father, that we would follow Christ in triumphal procession, trumpets blowing, spreading the fragrance of knowledge of Christ everywhere. Amen.
2 Corinthians 2:14

Inspiration for this prayer came from Fasting by Jentezen Franklin.

Ebola – Praise that the virus has been contained in Nigeria and Senegal

September 24, 2014

When news first hit that Ebola had reached Lagos (and later Port Harcourt) in Nigeria, and then Dakar, Senegal a few weeks later, it was tempting to despair. Lagos and Dakar are among the most important cities in West Africa. They are major transport hubs to all of Africa and the rest of the world, and both are very densely populated. Personally, I feared Ebola would spread quickly in both cities, but I cried out to God that it might not be so.

By God’s grace, and with the incredibly diligent efforts of the local health authorities and other leaders in both Nigeria and Senegal, Ebola appears to have been controled in both countries. PRAISE GOD!!!

Here is the latest WHO report (23 Sept) on the situation in Nigeria and Senegal.

Psalm 91:1-4 testifies about God:

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Let us rejoice that the Lord has delivered the people of Nigeria and Senegal from Ebola.  Of course, risks remain given the outbreak raging in neighboring countries.  And tragically 8 individuals died of Ebola in Nigeria.  But there is much to thank God for.

Even as we cry out to God for continued deliverance from Ebola for those in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, let us not neglect to thank Him for what He has done in Nigeria and Senegal.

Father, we praise You for how You have protected Nigeria and Senegal from Ebola’s further spread, and how you have given help to authorities there to implement good control measures.  Thank You for all who have called on You in faith for this outcome.  We rejoice in the good news from these two countries.  Lord we continue to cry out for all suffering so greatly in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.  Father in Your mercy, stop the spread of this disease.  Raise up wise and effective leaders at all levels of society who can help find solutions and ways to stop further transmission of Ebola in these countries that have been so ravished by this plague.  Provide hope.  May the church in these lands be light and salt.  Help believers throughout West Africa cling to the truth of Your goodness even in a time of such dark desperation, and make Your people a blessing for such a time as this.  May we be able to see and testify to Your faithfulness even in the midst of suffering, we pray in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
