Zechariah 1:1-3 and Ezekiel 11:17-20

October 27, 2014

In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, “The LORD has been very angry with your fathers. Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Return to me,” says the LORD of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 1:1-3)
LORD, you are rightfully angry with us. Help us return to you.

Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.” ‘ And they will go there, and they will take away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there. Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in my statutes and keep my judgments and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. (Ezekiel 11:17-20)
Lord Jesus, the Episcopal Church is being scattered and has gone after many abominations. Have mercy on us, restore us, and give us hearts of flesh in place of our hearts of stone. Then we shall be your people and walk in your ways.

WORD: Care for the widow and the orphan and the poor and stranger among you.
WORD: Hear me, my people, I AM speaking to you.
WORD: Do not be afraid of the wicked; for I see them.
Luke 10:2 WORD: Pray for laborers to go forth into my harvest fields.
WORD: Pray for the teachers to be taught by me.
WORD: Come to me and know me.

+ a 199 Stephen (young man) — He wanted to renew his commitment to Jesus but when it came to confessing his sins to Jesus he said, “I don’t know where to begin.” We told him to start any place. He did and spent a lengthy time with his head bowed in prayer. He asked for and accepted God’s forgiveness and adoption. He is facing a legal matter down-state. He went away much happier than when he came.

When he got up from the prayer table he called to two friends across the street and told them to come over for prayer (which they did).

***** Christ Church Neighborhood Meal, October 26, 2014 – Chuck & Theresa Rinaldo

+ – Cross

Germaine – It was his 41st birthday and we asked that God bless him.

Judy asked for prayer for her son Michael who is in jail. He is 23 years old and doesn’t know the Lord. She asked for protection for him and for the Lord to make himself known to him while he is in prison.

++ Stephanie wants to be able to provide for her children. Just found a house and prayed for a smooth transition (she is in a hotel right now). Asked for God’s continued provision. Doesn’t want to live in subsidized housing. We prayed the Lord would watch over her children; daughter, Sadie (1 year) and son, Jaleel (2 years) who has down-syndrome and needs to get medical services he requires. We prayed the Lord would direct her path, and for him to continue working in her life, opening doors she should enter and closing those she should not.

++++ Sharon continues to ask prayer for her health. She is having problems with her eyes, she has asthma/COPD and the doctors are trying to determine if she is able to have surgery on her arm. We pray for clarity and discernment for the doctors for her to be able to have the surgery she much needs to have.

+ A young man came in at the end of neighborhood meal, asking for prayer for a girl who had been abducted. Not sure of all detail, whether a relative. But Lord, we know you are aware of all of the details and ask for protection for her and for her to return unharmed. Peace for this young man.

Ebola prayer–Every morning

Psalm 90:12-14 (ESV)

So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Return, O Lord! How long?
Have pity on your servants!
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Our Father in heaven,

We thank You for the precious gift of time.  We thank You for the gift of time set apart as sacred, the Sabbath.  Bless the Christians in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Mali, that they may keep the Sabbath holy.

Return to Your servants in Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Mali, O Lord!  How long?  Have pity, we pray.

Your steadfast love never ceases; Your mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”  We hope in You for Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, and Guinea.  Amen.
