Joppa, a gateway to the salvation of the Gentiles

It was from Joppa that Jonah went to Ninevah and Peter went to the household of Cornelius. Joppa means fairness; comeliness; beauty.

Jonah 3:5 (ESV)
And the people of Nineveh believed God. They called for a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them.

Acts 10:44-46a (ESV)
While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God.

O Lord,
We are amazed at Your gift of the Holy Spirit. We extol Your magnificent, holy name and give You thanks.
Don’t forget the Gentiles of the Middle East today! Establish a beautiful gateway for their salvation!  The fields are white for harvest.  Amen.
