Mark, 2 Timothy, and Isaiah

Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow me.” (Mark 10:21)
Jesus, by your Holy Spirit please help us give up whatever is holding us back from taking up our cross and following you.

But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. (Mark 10:22)
Father, it doesn’t matter if our possessions are great or small; if they possess us, help us give them up to follow Jesus.

Then Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! (Mark 10:23-24)
Holy Spirit, help me put my trust in Jesus so that I may enter the kingdom of God.

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22)
Holy Spirit, help the youth leaders of this diocese faithfully teach this.

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1)
      Shine, Jesus shine!
