Joppa is an ancient port. It was there that Peter opened the door to resurrection life for Tabitha. In Summit Park, the highest point of Joppa, are the excavated remains of a brick wall from an Egyptian fortress built by Ramses II. Ramses II is the “Pharaoh of the Exodus.” I don’t know if there any iniquitous thrones remaining from that period of history, but I am using the ten plagues of Moses as one model for praying for this city.
Isis was known as the protector of children. One of the highest gods of Egypt was Pharaoh himself.
We thank You, Father, that Israel was sheltered under the blood so that they could be brought out of the land of slavery. Holy is Your name.
We thank You, Father, that when we come up under the Blood of the Lamb, we are sheltered by You. Holy is Your name.
We thank You, Father, that Your Son Jesus not only died for us but rose to new life so that we are saved from sin. Holy is His name.
We thank You, Father, that You are the protector of children in Joppa, Israel. Oh, Father, would that the hearts of the parents in Joppa would turn to You and recognize Jesus as the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. O, that the households of Joppa would come up under the Blood of the Lamb. Amen.
