From the Lectionary for 2015 12 08

Matthew 22:36-40 (NKJV)
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Holy Spirit, please help us put God first while loving our neighbor. Help us live by your priorities. Thank you.

Revelation 1:9 (NKJV)
I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Jesus, thank you for giving us brothers and sisters in our times of tribulation.

Revelation 1:10a (NKJV)
I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day,
Jesus, help us to be in the Spirit on your day.

Amos 7:12-13 (NKJV)
Then Amaziah said to Amos: “Go, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah. There eat bread, and there prophesy. But never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is the royal residence.”
Father, set the church free from captivity to the state and to the culture.

Psalm 36:7-9 (NKJV)
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.
Holy Spirit, help me drink from the river of your pleasures. You are the fountain of my delight and give me light to see by. Thank you.

Word: Listen to my counsel. Seek out wisdom and pursue it.
