Philadelphia, PA–First Continental Congress

In preparation for the national elections, we are looking at our nation’s roots in Philadelphia, PA.–JW

Its general prominence, together with its central location, led to the selection of Philadelphia as the meeting place of the first Continental Congress in 1774. The congress met in Carpenters’ Hall.

Our Father in heaven,

Do you not inhabit the praises of Your people? We stand in agreement with the praises offered to You through the centuries in Philadelphia. We say to Christ Jesus, the carpenter of Nazareth, Build a door over Philadelphia! Amen.
