December 4

December 4, 2013

Each of these events occurred on December 4 and provide one snapshot of American history. The first Thanksgiving by English settlers in North America is so beautiful. Yet it is in Jamestown that slavery is introduced in North America. The consequences of that corporate sin are still with us.

1619 – Captain John Woodlief led newly-arrived English colonists to a grassy slope along the James River and instructed them to drop to their knees and pray in thanks for a safe arrival to the New World. Thirty-eight men from Berkeley Parish in England vowed:

“Wee ordaine that the day of our ships arrivall at the place assigned for plantacon in the land of Virginia shall be yearly and perpetually keept holy as a day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God.

1864 – American Civil War: Sherman’s March to the Sea – At Waynesboro, Georgia, forces under Union General Judson Kilpatrick prevent troops led by Confederate General Joseph Wheeler from interfering with Union General William T. Sherman’s campaign destroying a wide swath of the South on his march to the Atlantic Ocean from Atlanta, Georgia.
1915 – Ku Klux Klan receives charter from Fulton County, Georgia.
1969 – Black Panther Party members Fred Hampton and Mark Clark are shot and killed in their sleep during a raid by 14 Chicago police officers.
2006 – Six black youths assault a white teenager in Jena, Louisiana, US.

O Ancient of Days, the Living God,
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your kingdom endures from generation to generation. Your kingdom shall never be destroyed, and Your dominion shall be to the end.
We acknowledge the sins of our forefathers in introducing slavery on this continent. The place of first Thanksgiving became a gateway of death and destruction, hatred and fear.
Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
We leave our forefathers to Your perfect justice and mercy. We acknowledge our own sins of racism and indifference and ask for Your forgiveness.
Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
We call forth the Blood of the Lamb over any portals created in the time and land of colonial Jamestown. The Blood of the Lamb speaks to the angel of death, You must pass over.
May Jamestown become a portal of forgiveness. Oh, that the races in North America would give thanks to You, Almighty God, for one another. Amen.

Innocent blood

July 7, 2013

2 Kings 24:2-4 (ESV)
And the Lord sent against him bands of the Chaldeans and bands of the Syrians and bands of the Moabites and bands of the Ammonites, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by his servants the prophets. Surely this came upon Judah at the command of the Lord, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, and also for the innocent blood that he had shed. For he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the Lord would not pardon.

Please note that the destruction of Judah resulted from the sins of the king’s great grandfather (Jehoiakim, Josiah, Amon, Manasseh, in reverse chronological order). This doesn’t seem fair to our modern minds, but it is biblical:

Deuteronomy 5:9
You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.

Abortion counter: 56,392,684 abortions in the US since Roe v. Wade

Lord, have mercy on our descendants.
Christ, have mercy on our descendants.
Lord, have mercy on our descendants.

Abortion in England

January 8, 2013

In 2011, for women resident in England and Wales, the total number of abortions was 189,931. Ninety-six percent of abortions were funded by the National Healthh Service. At least one third of British women will have had an abortion by the time they reach the age of 45 years.

Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. Daniel 3:28

O Lord our God, Holy One of Israel, our Savior,
You are the creator of heaven and earth and all that is therein. We do not fear. You have formed us and redeemed us and called us by name. You rescue Your children. We are Yours.
You formed the unborn children in England and Wales who were aborted. As they passed through the waters of the womb, You were with them. As they passed through the rivers of blood, You were there. As they walked through the fires of Molech, they were not burned. You created them, You formed them, and You saved them. We praise Your holy name.
Are these children now gathered around Your throne? Are they praying for their mothers and fathers and grandparents? Are they praying for the Church of England? Are they praying for those who have protested this program of death?
If so, Lord, hear the sound of their prayers. Release the sound of their prayers and ours over England and Wales.
Have mercy upon the Church of England and the Anglican Commmunion. May the voices of the Anglican Communion join with theirs and say, “To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever.” Amen. Amen. Amen.
Isaiah 43:1-3, Jude 25

From our pagan roots to the present–death

January 8, 2013

O Jesus Christ of Nazareth,
We have crucified You, and God has raised You from the dead. Salvation is found through You alone. In all the world and through all of time, there is no one else whom God has given who can save us.
In times far past and present, spirits of death, war, the otherworld, and phantoms have been worshipped in Britain. They can hold influence even in ignorance of their existence. Without the power of God a curse will remain upon this nation and church, causing pain and sorrow unto future generations. Therefore, in obedience to God’s word, we confess that our ancestors in the United Kingdom and the Anglican Communion, and we Anglicans today, have listened to Satan and followed his ways.
We confess that the Anglican Consultative Council accepted a large sum of money from a pro-choice organization, the Satcher Institute, for the continuing indaba process. Please forgive us this unholy indoctrination.
We claim Your name against these and all other spirits of death: Morrigan, Badhbh, Arawn, Pluto, Cerberus, Freya, Hel, the spirit of murder, the spirit of war, the spirit of abortion, the spirit of human sacrifice, and the spirit of animal sacrifice.
You taught us that not only does violence kill, but words kill as well. We confess our personal sins of physical and verbal violence. (Pause.)
Jesus, You are the Lord of Life. You have come that we may have life and have it in abundance. Bless Great Britain, the House of Windsor, the Church of England, the Anglican Communion, and Archbbishop of Canterbury-elect Justin Welby with Your life, Your abundance, and Your renewal. Amen.
Acts 4:10-12

40 days for life

November 6, 2012

Guard us from ignoring our sins, dear Lord, and incline Your ear to us. Help us to obey Your holy law.
Have mercy, Lord. Have mercy.

40 days for life

November 5, 2012

Father of heaven and earth,

Your Holy Word records this solemn instruction to a king: “Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless. Speak for them and be a righteous judge.”

We thank You for the wisdom of Holy Scripture. We humbly ask You to raise up voters who will judge righteously, protect the rights of the helpless, and speak for the unborn. Amen.

40 days for life

Editorial note: The pronoun ‘them’ in this passage refers to ‘images of men’ in verse 17.

Ezekiel 16:20-22 (ESV)
And you took your sons and your daughters, whom you had borne to me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your whorings so small a matter that you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them? And in all your abominations and your whorings you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, wallowing in your blood.

Father in heaven,
We were once newoborns, naked and bare and wallowing in blood. We were once naked and bare, vulnerable in our mothers’ wombs.
We confess thhat we have aborted 54,000,000 of Your children since Roe v. Wade.
Lord have mercy on the United States.
Forgive us for our sexual immorality,
Christ, have mercy on the United States.
Forgive us for desiring to please images of men rather than You.
Lord, have mercy on the United States.
Forgive us for sacrificing Your children. Amen.
