Colossians 3:18-25

April 26, 2010

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. (Colossians 3:18-20)
Jesus, please establish your order in the lives of the families of this diocese. Help each of us find our proper place in your order.

Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. (Colossians 3:21)
Father, please show us how to properly encourage our children. Thank you.

Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. (Colossians 3:22)
Jesus, please help me obey the managers you have placed over me at work. Help me to be a good and faithful worker serving you. Thank you for my job.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, (Colossians 3:23)
Holy Spirit, give us joyful enthusiasm in our work.

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 324:)
Jesus, thank you for calling us into your service. Help us daily answer your call.

But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality. (Colossians 3:25)
Jesus, cover me and wash me daily in your blood. Thank you.

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” (Acts 2:37)
A word received: “They were cut to the heart.” I want my people to pray for that. That is a work I do through my Holy Spirit. I want them to desire my cleansing fire. A word received: They have to desire this.
